I am a 19 year guy who has just done a day skippers course through Offshore Sailing Academy and now wants to sail around the world doing deliveries etc. I am very passionate about sailing and would do anything to get on a boat and sail. I've been sailing for the last 11 years on all kinds of boats so I know my way around a boat very well. I am looking for a boat that will be leaving from Cape Town and leaving the country. I am currenty based in Pretoria but getting to Cape Town soon wont be a problem. Sailing Qualifications: SAS Yacht Skipper, SAS Yacht Hand, VHF Radio Licence, STCW 95-Fire Fighting, First Aid & Personal safety & Social responsibilities with personal survival techniques.   March 2010

Sensible, fun loving gent seeking sea miles !
I am an enthusiastic, easy going, fun loving 37yr old gent with a passion for adventure. I have a good pair of sea legs and love all to do with the ocean: -
I'm an accomplished spear/ski-boat fisherman, Hold an open water diver scuba qualification, COC for powered vessel under 9m surf launch category C, Restricted VHF radiotelephone operators licence, SAS Day skippers Motor/Sail, STCW 95, Duel nationality French/South African, Recently granted B1/B2 US Visa
I have sold my Dental laboratory to pursue a career in the yachting industry. In order to do my yachtmaster offshore qualification I need to build up sea miles and experience skippering. I am dedicating 2010 to accomplishing this feat, and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to crew on your yacht, especially on extended passages. All my experience so far has been on monohulls however I am enthusiastic to learn the ropes on all types of cruising vessels. I have logged 450 Nm the majority of which have been on a L34 Holiday PYC "SUNDANCE" with Errol Rutherford (0835668857)
So if you could use an enthusiastic team-playing crewmember that can fill your galley with seafood treats, with a flair for cooking, then don't hesitate to call me!   March 2010

Eileen and I are fortunate to be visiting the Western Cape from the UK for two months from 19 January 2010 and would love to go cruising for part of that time. I'm a senior citizen, fit and a regular gym user. My sailing experience spans some 40 years and encompasses in excess of 100,000nm. I have completed six transatlantics, circumnavigated my own boat(Prout 37 Snowgoose catamaran) with 1995 Trade Winds Rally, crewed with 1998 Blue Water Rally and the 2007 Blue Water Rally. Many deliveries and other voyages, including eight UK to Turkey six of which involved crossing Bay of Biscay in the winter.
I am happy to manage all aspects of boat/passage i.e.navigation and strategy, provisioning and skippering boat in absence of owner. For example the French owner of the 53ft Amel Supermaramu 2000 I crewed on in the recent 2007 Blue Water Rally returned home frequently and was happy to leave the boat in my charge. I took Canopus out of the water in MacKay and Singapore and supervised the work carried out. The owner went home from Singapore for six weeks and I sailed her via the Malacca Straits, Peninsular Malaysia and Langkowi to Thailand where he rejoined us.
I have the usual boat owner technical skills, have never been seasick and can cook. I play the piano.

Eileen - also a fit senior citizen - has crewed with the 1995 Trade Winds Rally, the 1998, 2005 and 2007 Blue Water Rallies, four transatlantics and numerous deliveries - she is never seasick and is an excellent cook.   December 2009

I would like to know more about Richard Stuart Solomon, from whom I descend, and supposedly was instrumental in the origins of your fine club. Anything you can provide will be greatly appreciated.   December 2009

Many thanks for putting me on the RCYC crew wanted board earlier on this year. I was lucky and got the trip of a lifetime from which I have just returned! it was Cape Town to Brazil via Luderitz and St. Helena and I just wanted to let you know I am very grateful. I am grounded for now! looking after the family again but will ask you to put me back on the board later on in the year if that is ok?
Thanks again,
Caroline Vousden
